The Chemicals Committee in its vision for contributing to the 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 Development Strategy  aims to promote a better integration of chemical safety into development co-operation and to raise awareness about the major role of 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 as a knowledge-sharing organisation on sound chemicals management for all countries, whatever their stage of development.

This brochure presents the overall benefits of the sound management of chemicals for governments, industry and the general public, with a particular attention to the benefits related to the management of industrial chemicals; agricultural pesticides; chemical accidents prevention, preparedness and response as well as these related to the establishment of the Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers.

 

TOOLS WHICH HELp governments establish and implement their risk assessment and management of chemicals   

The 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 has developed, with various partners, tools designed specifically to address the needs of countries that are looking for expertise on how to establish/further develop their chemicals management framework. These tools are the IOMC Toolbox for Decision-Making in Chemicals Management and the 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 Environmental Risk Assessment Toolkit (ERAT) .

The 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 has also developed a global portal to information on chemical substances, the eChemPortal . This portal enables users to gain efficiencies when carrying-out or reviewing hazard assessment of chemicals by having access to existing health and environmental effects information.

A variety of other 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 tools have also been developed to help governments review registration dossiers submitted by registrants and to take decisions about risk assessment and risk management of chemicals. These tools include test methods, guidance documents and best practices on a variety of topics (risk assessment, exposure, risk management, risk communication), toolboxes, information portals.

THE 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 NOT ONLY OFFERS FREE ACCESS TO TOOLS BUT ALSO A WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT GOVERNMENTS

The 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 provides help to the governments of our Member and Partner countries  and support to national governmental agencies in the field of chemicals management range from answers to specific questions to the organisation of workshops on the topics listed above. Tailored-made capacity building activities might also become available in the future. The 蜂鸟电竞在线入口 has also the capacity to call on its network of experts to find relevant expertise on topics that are not mentioned above.
